As usual, I woke up around 4 am and finished the task to the God Almighty. The tolling platter was greeted with two portions of rice and scrambled egg. That's my breakfast. As promised before that we will go to the lake Sebu. I stomped my feet to the main campus and arrived before 9 am. At the front of education faculty office. I stared the wall full of announcements while waiting for Maam Fuentes, my supervisor. Not in long time, a bunch of students rowing across in front of the office and one of them is Noor. My Muslim brother in NDMU. We talked for a moment and arranged for meeting.
After maam Fuentes arrived, I and Fariz accompanied by Jireh and Michelle went to Lake Sebu. We delivered by Mr. Allan, the man who fetched me at General Santos airport, using minivan.
The travel felt not so long, maybe because I keep talking with Jireh inside the car.
The first stop is a donated school by Marist Brothers of NDMU. It's located around the Mountain with uphill step. We're greeted lively by school's staff and the pupils. The excitement is shown by indigenous tribe, Tboli with cultural art performances. With a bit of force from maam Fuentes, I also asked to give some words as visitor from Indonesia. It's incredible to see the happiness and the joy of children who passionately to learn. I also have chance to help distributing some note book to the pupils. Before continuing the tour, we tasted some dishes provided by the school's staffs.
Next stop is lake Sebu. This is the main course of today feast (at that time, I thought this is the main course). Lake Sebu is very beautiful with green color radiating through the air. It can captivates your spirit and you just can stay there for whole day long. Lake Sebu is also have some little islands inside it and it is similar with Raja Ampat, Irian and Matan Kaladan, Borneo in Indonesia hehe. We could have tour on the boat resto and circling the lake but unfortunately I and Jireh feel dizzy on it so we decided to feel the mild air of the lake in the resort.
We walked around the resort and took some photos. As usual, there are no normal style in my pictures. There's always be unforgettable style. We also enjoy the typical water dishes, Tilapia and chicken soup. But there's one thing that catched my eyes on the menu. It is Java rice. I don't understand it is literally the rice from Java island of Indonesia or it just a name but it's nice to see it, feel like home, yummy. The lunch is accompanied with melancholy wave of singer and two cats and a dog which waiting for the leftover.
After in Lake Sebu, I thought we will stop by in shop to buy some souvenirs and then ride back home, but the car immediately step in the gas went to another spot. And the unexpected thing happened.
We stop in another tourist spot which called the seven fall. I took some photos with heavy downpour background of the fall. It's magnificent. And my heart start racing. In the beginning, I thought maam Fuentes just kidding about ridding a zipline but after she paid for the tickets and asked me to fill in the form so my doubt is scattered. "Are you afraid of high?" Maam Fuentes said. "No maam, I just afraid of falling down". I replied her. Zipline is practically about falling while looking at down. The seven falls zipline is the highest zipline in Asia with the high about 200 m above the ground with 1,2 km total route. The first route is about 740 m and the second route is 420 m. It is insane.
I hopped onto first platform and the staf strapped me tight and safe. I shared the ride with Fariz which obviously we never try this before in our life. You can see the nervousness of this unexpected tour in my face. Jireh and Michelle keep laughing at us. We look like rats on strap. I don't know which pray should I read, my mind scrambled and my soul was lost when we're released to the air. Whipping through the cold lake Sebu. I silent in thousands words enchanted by the views. It's incredible sight. I don't know what kind curse word vomited by Fariz. I thought he yell the F word and S word simultaneously.
The second course was shorter, I feel more composed and controlled. But still, there's no single word uttered by my mouth. After we arrived, maam Fuentes compared us with the spouse behind our ride. They look happy and no worries. "Yes, they can do that maam, because they are in love and I am not in that kind of relationship with Fariz" that's my honest reply to her.
Finally we're survived. We back to the car and head back home. Inside the car, sometime Jireh dan Michelle look at us who sit at the back. I didn't say a word and they can see from our expression. Arrived at the campus, my head still dizzy and the energy from lunch seemingly running out. I, Fariz and Jireh ate in the canteen. And we separated after finish it. Just see you in another day.
